I’m Sam!
Hi there! My name is Sam, and I love to be entirely creative and make unique- wearable art. I grew up in a creative atmosphere with my family. We each have our own talents in many different aspects. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to run my own business, I just never knew what it would be. My embroidery journey started in 2022 when I started to hand embroider little designs. I got my first machine which was a Brother PE800 in September of 2022. I would buy and download designs to make full stitched designs which eventually lead to me making my own designs with a software program. I would sell at markets and sell through promoting on instagram. At that time, I had named my business TotallyThreaded. In October of 2023 I decided to move up to the Janome MB7 embroidery machine, which is what I have currently. I went from working with a 1 needle machine to a 7 needle machine and I absolutely love it. After solely creating my own designs, I learned about the appliqué technique. I did little designs incorporating different fabrics, mainly corduroy. That lead into making the bigger pieces with using materials from velvet to leather to felt and many others. My machine has a hoop size that can only go up to 9x10 inches so the way these bigger designs work is by taking an idea/ design, and basically splitting it up into sections and pretty much fitting them together like a puzzle. With that being said, once the first section is embroidered onto the shirt, the next section has to line up perfectly and meet up with the first section. This process can take anywhere from 3 to almost 8 hours. Patience and meticulous planning skills are much needed for this technique. It is such a rewarding job and I love seeing what I am able to come up with. Seeing others enjoy what I make just as much as I do is the BEST!
